	According to the Puslinch Historical Society Website, the Tait and Ord farms were originally situated adjacent to each other,
	so Leonard Tait and Jane Ord lived next door to Jane's father, Robert Ord.
	<br /><br />
	Leonard Tait and a Robert Ord (presumably Jane's brother, not her father) both served together in
	the #2 Company, 2nd Battalion, Wellington Militia in 1857.
	<br /><br />
	Leonard Tait and Robert Ord Sr. were both blacksmiths. By their age difference one would presume that Leonard was
	apprenticing with his father-in-law. If so, it is most likely that, although he was born in England, he had moved
	to Berwickshire, Scotland.
	<br /><br />
	By 1871 the family had migrated to Hamilton.
	<br /><br />
	Burial: Crown Cemetery, Puslinch Twp., Wellington Co., Ont.
	<br /><br />
	Jane Ord came from Eccles, Berwickshire, Scotland and they were probably married back in Britain before they
	emigrated as their earliest children were born in Britain, not Canada. Eccles is right on the border
	so one assumes that the Taits may have lived just across the river in Northumberland. In
	later census records Leonard Tait Jr and Mary Tait refer to themselves as Scottish, not English. It's not known if
	that's because their mother was Scottish, or if it may be because the Taits came from so close to the
	Scottish border that perhaps they may have been from Scotland in an earlier generation. The Tait name is a
	borderland Riever name, a group of people who lived lawlessly and freely on both sides of the border,
	but the Rievers had long died out by the early 1800s when Leonard was born.
	<br /><br />
	Children of LEONARD TAIT and JANE ORD are:
	<br />
	<pre>
	i.    JOHN TAIT, b. 1841.
	ii.   MARY TAIT, b. 1843, PuslinchTwp. Wellington Co., Ontario, Canada; d. Unknown, probably Hamilton, Ont.;
	       m. HUGH STEWART, Bet. 1858 - 1869, Wentworth Co., Ontario;
		  b. Abt. 1839, Puslinch Twp. Wellington Co., Ontario, Canada; d. Unknown, probably Hamilton, Ont.
		  Occupation: 1877, Grocer at King &amp; Gage in Hamilton, Ont.
		  Hugh's parents (and grandmother) all died within 11 months of each other orphaning Hugh and his sister
		  and brothers all under the age of 11. Hugh would have been 9. Hugh and his siblings were raised by
		  their uncle Peter Stewart and his sister, their aunt, Catherine Stewart.
	iii. ELIZABETH TAIT, b. 1844, Great Britain, probably Berwickshire, Scotland; d. 1864, Puslinch, Ontario.
